Ceramic Bowl Making
Description
The lands on which we live are of particular significance in terms of history,
geography and arts. These lands have also become an inseparable part of human
life, and became a material shaped by the humanity. It is thought that the earliest
pottery emerged when a basket lined with clay became watertight after falling into
fire. The idea of making a bowl is inspired by the form that appears when two
palms are brought together. This idea has transformed and evolved over time into
tableware that we use today.
The aim of this course is to enable participants to create the form of a bowl using
their hands and fingers.

Seramik Çanak Şekillendirmek
Üzerinde yaşadığımız topraklar tarihi coğrafyası sanatı ile dünya üzerinde önemli bir konuma sahiptir. Bu kıymetli topraklar, aynı zamanda, ilk çağlardan bu yana insanoğlunun yaşamını ve gündelik kullanım alanına girmiş onunla birlikte şekillenen bir malzeme halini almıştır. İlk çömleğin balçıkla sıvanmış bir sepetin ateşe düşüp pişerek su sızdırmaz bir hale gelmesiyle oluştuğu düşünülmektedir. Çanak yapmak fikri, aslında insanın iki avucunun yan yana gelişiyle ortaya çıkan şekilden etkilenişidir. Çamur kullanılarak yapılan ilk kaplar elle şekillendirilmiş ve parmaklar kullanılarak bezenmiştir. Bu fikir zaman içinde gelişerek bugün kullandığımız sofra takımlarına dönüşmüştür.
Bu dersin amacı, çanak formunu kendi ellerimizi ve parmaklarımızı kullanarak şekillendirmeyi öğrenmektir.
